Overview
Explore the principles of trauma-informed teaching and its role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Together we will define trauma and understand its impact on students. You will learn to identify the signs of trauma and recognize the prevalence of trauma among students. Then we will develop strategies for creating a trauma-informed classroom, including establishing routines, creating a positive learning environment, and promoting student engagement. You will walk away with resources that can be put to use immediately in your classrooms. But just as importantly we will take some time to focus on the importance of your own self-care and ensure you are also well supported.
